Just listened to this and thought it was worth posting. I do love how, in Scandianvian languages, the same word is used for marriage and poisoning -- I don't think it's a coincidence.

Liberty isnt a thing you are given as a present. He who thinks with his own head is a free man. Liberty is something you have to take for yourself. Its no use begging it from others.

That's a complex quote. Would "patents" or "laws" be considered tools, perhaps even environmental-social-evolution?

"The atomic bomb made the prospect of future war unendurable. It has led us up those last few steps to the mountain pass; and beyond there is a different country."

J. Robert Oppenheimer

"When the term 'machine gun' enters common parlance, the word 'machine' becomes much more sinister."

Scott Westerfeld

It would take God almighty to come to earth and remove all of the " isms " from the minds of human beings!! If I had a dollar for every slight, disrespect, maltreatment, and yes beating in my life I would be very rich by now!! Racism, sexism, classism, etc. is out there in the world; if it bends your thinking or deters you from your goals; then it has won and you have lost!!-Cousin Lucky

-when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed. -Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
