I recommend forgetting about your OLDDD computer and getting a 775 motherboard with a intel core2 processor. And some new ram too. You can scrap that ddr1 stuff.

Seriously.. everytime you push the power button on that thing, it must be like starting a time machine.

But maybe you can help me answer a question, I've been wondering about.

What really killed the dinosaurs?

i didnt get what u are trying to say, if u are saying it takes me a long time to boot , it takes less than 10 secs to boot into linux

For my need i dont realy need core2 , this will be more than enough, with a new MOBO and 512 MB or 1 GB RAM will give me a good system

Check out newegg, they gotta have something.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=&srchInDesc=

It'd be a lot easier to just buy a new CPU and ram and mobo, then try to keep the old stuff.... pciex16 + socket478 = doesn't really work.

EDIT: and that guy above you is saying that your computer is old.
