Is there light within a black hole that wants to escape?

Okay my scientific background is close to non-existent. That being said perhaps someone can answer this question.

I have read and/or heard that light cannot escape from a black hole.

Would not science have to first prove that light exists within a black hole to establish that light cannot escape a black hole?

Once on a forum I asked where the material for the "Big Bang" came from since matter cannot be created or destroyed? After several days of debate one poster informed me that the "Big Bang" was caused by nothing splitting itself in half. I am still trying to figure out how that could be possible.

While I think about it. Today I heard Senator state that climate change was causing sea levels to raise on the East coast. I have never heard anyone mention that sea levels are raising on the West coast. Are not the Atlantic and Pacific connected? In fact since all oceans, seas and gulfs are connected wouldn't a 12-inch raise in sea levels on this nation's East coast mean that there had to be a corresponding 12-inch raise in the Mediterranean Sea? How many gallons of water would it take for even a 2-inch raise in sea levels since all oceans, seas and gulfs are connected? Are not all the glaciers whose melting will cause this raise in sea levels already displacing their own mass?

Relax and take another hit off the bong; it's all an illusion any way.

I'm no expert, but I'll try to answer anyway.

I think it suffices to observe a light source that would be shining light at a black hole, and no light coming back, no? Also, be careful of using the word "prove" in a scientific context.

The Big Bang theory has nothing to say about what happened before the "Bang". I think I heard something similar to the "nothing splitting itself in half" in some talk from Stephen Hawking, but it's 100% speculation.

The sea level varies around the globe.

"Many people mistakenly think that the rate of sea-level rise is the same everywhere as glaciers and ice caps melt,” said Marcia McNutt, director of the USGS. However, regional variations in temperature, water salinity and air pressure can cause rates of increase to differ considerably, as can ocean currents and land movements.

area of oceans * 2 inches in gallons = 4.575×10^15 gallons (this doesn't include seas, but probably close enough).

AFAIK, the glaciers of concern are currently located on land, in Greenland and Antarctica or sitting on top of frozen ocean near their coasts such that the ice is above water.

your question:

Is there light within a black hole that wants to escape?

how can something without a conscious awareness of itself want?
can a stop sign want to actually make the person what is getting closer to it stop?
can a apple tree actually want someone to picks it apples so they can enjoy them?

if you are taking about psychics and how it works.

A light source does not want, it just acts upon the environment it is in. Where their is light darkness is not present. Where their is darkness no light is present. The two contradict each other, and a light is only as bright as its source.

I do not think an apple tree would want anyone to eat its young.

If one accepts reincarnation it could be argued that the apple tree, since it is alive, does in fact have a soul. Does having a soul mean that the apple tree might have a conscious?

Hey at the moment I have nothing better to do with my time. True I could do more research on how to get pine to print to a brother wireless printer and how to have an email sent from pine to a yahoo account actually be delivered to that yahoo mailbox, but finding answers to my original questions in this thread at the moment seems more plausible.

because that is how it reproduces -- otherwise, wasps and slugs would eat its young.

if you think on that a little more you might then see how ridiculous that belief system really is then.

it'd mean that one that holds such a belief would have to starve him or herself to death out of fear that anything that they used to eat or drink to survive just might be a relative to just another human being, that if drank or eaten would have to then be taken as cannibalism.

if one believes in a soul then they have to believe that God too is real therefore such a belief in reincarnation that states one comes back as anything if they got it wrong the first time, or time before the death of them took place cannot be. it contradicts the Christian and Jewish belief system.

two: reincarnation is for them that do not want to care about how and what they do in this life time, it gives them an excuse to misbehave and be selfish, always saying, If I get it wrong this time it does not matter I'll just come back as something else to try it again. (that is just the surface of that thought)

you original question does not even reflect the contents of the post. think about it. you have time.

Simple analogy:
— I'll lock the door, so no-one will be able get out.
— Have you checked that there's no-one inside? If there isn't, you can't say that no-one can get out.
— Eh?!

They were being an idiot. The Big Bang is simply the earliest event that physics can reconstruct. If they had more data, or different theories, they could go back further (or even change their minds about it altogether) but they don't.

Perhaps you need to listen to a west coast senator?

theories being the key word here.

Perhaps I need to stop watching C-Span. Not because of the crap some politicians spew but because every time I watch I see how little those bozos really work. A Senator speaks on the floor of the Senate then they have a "quorum call" waiting for another Senator to show up to speak. I am a little old fashioned, I actually expect my employees to put in a days work for a days pay, not hide in their office playing with their Iphone or their secretary waiting for the party bosses to tell them how to vote on a bill they have not read.

As far as I know (by reads and videos I've watched on the net, not because I've been there ) light gets trapped inside a black hole once it's caught by it. I remember having watched a video explaining how a black hole would look inside; they said it was supposed to be white by the light caught there.

That said, not even the most brainy scientists really know for sure 100% what happens inside a black hole. Most likely it is matter so tightly crushed into itself by gravity that one single cubic millimeter of that matter would weight approximately as much as Mount Everest (that's what I once read somewhere).

please stop disguising your politics and religion as science. I actually thought this may be a thread about science and not USian politics...

religion and science go together if you think about it in the proper contents.

politics is just a thought that is acted up on by others that feel the need to try and control your every thought.

Some theories also stated a blackhole could be used to either for time travel or as a short cut within the universe - which is also not practical since most likely whatever goes into a blackhome is just 'spaghettified' - and or crushed by the 'singularity' of a blackhole - which is just another way of saying - we just have no f'ing clue what happens in a blackhole - and our understanding of physics inside a blackhole is turned on it's head.

Going into a tangent for a bit - wormholes always fascinated me , and I have seen movies like Event Horizon (didn't do so well at the box office) - but I found it pretty good, and it touched upon creating 'short cuts' in the universe to travel vast distances - since actually achieving light speed is most likely impossible. The science behind a wormhole is sound, and the mathematics behind it confirms this, although I have always wondered if a wormhole is traveled through - yes in theory you are ripping a hole in the fabric of space from point A to point B - but how do you actually KNOW that you are going to your intended destination, and not some other place, or time or even a different dimension. Fascinating stuff actually.

This video also touches upon blackholes which I found to be informative: 25 Of The Creepiest Things In The Universe

Blackholes are also sung about - I'm just using this as an excuse to also post this here too
