School was great!

Where else can you get access to state of the art computer systems? Its probably different now but we had one computer at our school....so we played a lot of football instead.
Any way, you couldnt bleed goats nowadays, you would have to bleed another goat just to fill in the official paperwork for the first goat

Apparently computers are incapable of teaching you proper grammar:

I got a lot of A's this year
effort has been pointless for me in school, Computers teach me so much more then school
It should be than, not then

At least last time I checked.

Grammar Nazis such as myself are very particular

P.S. I hate school, but I am a "workahaulic", according to one of my friends. I love computers and love spending time working with them, but I cannot tear myself away from school work long enough to learn anything useful (such as perl). Pity me. Fifteen years old and all I possess in the vast realm of cyberspace is some basic linux and BSD administration skills, and a base knowledge of C++ :*(

I used to dream about one day getting a C, all my reports said "could do better if tried" sorry Pal ! - not interested, however when I went to Linesman school for NZ Telecom I got all A's .....

Not at the College Hill training school by any chance?

Spent many happy weeks there in the early '70s being trained as an NZPO technician.

Mike.

Kia Ora Bro

Yes that was the one
one memorable event stands out too

One of our tutors had this lovely showpiece of two 200 pair cables beautifully lead sleeved as demos for wiping sleeves, and these two guys ( not me honestly ! ) had a sword fight with these two bits of telephone cable and totally wrecked the lead sleeves. That was funny enough to watch buit the downcast look on the face of the tutor when he came in and found his beautiful lead collars looking like mangled drain pipe. He had a moustache ( like the cartoon character Yosemti Sam ) and it just drooped....... LOL

I was there in the 1980's, I came out of my time and a year later we were all sold off, I was on underground construction at the time so I took the money and ran, don't regret it either. I was hoping to do the engineering thing but life took a different turn I guess.
