You, sir, have quite obviously so far, have yet to put in the sweat. Many here have tried to help you with both positive and negatives hard won from experience. Now it is up to you to do with that whatever you will. Maybe you will have learned something. Somewhat more likely, given your unrealistic view of yourself, you won't. "Fake it till you make it" only goes a few small steps. Then you must perform or evaporate.

• talk much more about yourself in the course of this thread
• get people annoyed because, despite asking for critique, you just keep repeating how great you are and that basically everybody else can stuff it if they don't agree with you
• evtl. start complaining that we cannot "read" you - isn't that what you wanted in the first place?

all that reveals quite a lot about yourself, doesn't matter that we don't actually sit with you.

Again: if you're such a 'creative genius', why bother asking us what we think, and then reject whatever you don't like hearing? You can't spell, have a poor grasp of grammar, and (based on the mercifully little you posted), can't string thoughts/paragraphs together. If it's going to 'have everyone on the edge of their seats', then GO DO IT and quit talking about it.

i like sci-fi a lot, but tbh to me a good, fantastic story is just as important as the science.
in fact i don't care all too much about the hard science; maybe because i don't have any sort of scientific background .

but i do notice & appreciate when the writer puts effort into these things.

essentially i think most sci-fi has overlap with fantasy literature.

Writing about the future is unique (compared to other story writing) because it allows for a maximum of imagination while still keeping a connection to our current world, to reality.
often there's also a parable, a comparison, a critique of our current world/society. While this is also possible in a fantasy genre, it is much more inherent in sci-fi.

And again i'm not really talking much about science... What would you call it if someone writes about the future but is much more interested in society than, say, technology? is it still sci-fi?

I worked in the Mental Health field 9 years, know it when I see it and how to deal with it. When vigorously challenged to prove himself, confronted with his own character flaws and the fact he was not special it was more than he could withstand so he left to find "other special or high-status people", like George Lucas, who could appreciate his "ingenious work":

In my considered opinion, I don't think they have any problem apart from being a year 9/10 student with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement - not at all uncommon at any school.

Taking Asimov's classis science fiction Foundation series as an example, if it wasn't for the space travel it would be a fantasy story. What makes it science fiction is the consistency of the invented science*. For example, there are natural limitations on interstellar communication (basically the only invention is the mechanism that allows "faster than light speed") and there are consequences of those limitatons. All good science fiction is just "let's suppose this is possible - what happens then?"

*When I was growing up, anything to do with space travel was science fiction; when my kids were growing up it was already history. But there was a lot of overlap in the science.

I suppose writing is just "all about the money" these days. Rowling is famous for the Potter "franchise" and of course for being very wealthy.

Our budding author, the OP of this thread, seems to have the same lofty ambitions.

I suppose it's the modern trend, could be applied to pop musicians or actors also - "make millions first, worry about learning to play/act later..." or some such thing.
