Yes, you do need a basic English class review.

Thanks for admiting that Im a creative genius. But grammer is not all that (thats what editors are for), did you know Eienstein couldnt spell that well either?
Einstein knew more than one language, and English wasn't his native one, which is why he couldn't spell well in it. He also did very good in math (despite the urban legends to the contrary). And again, if you think an editor is going to waste hundreds of hours of time trying to decipher things that are spelled right but used incorrectly ('their' vs. 'they're', 'feint', vs. 'faint', etc.), you're sadly mistaken. You, personally, need to actually show EFFORT, in order to move ahead. You can't just write junk and give it to someone else to fix. Small problems, flow issues, yes...that's what editors are for. To take something good and make it better, not to fix a pile of junk.

And before you ask, yes..I've been published twice, so yes, I do actually know. And based on the little piece you posted here, I wouldn't say 'creative genius'.
Quote:
@enorbet IDK man simulation theory is huge (Elon Musk belives in it) and even I consider it a possibility. In reguards to the sun then maybe ill make it about climate change which according to Ocasio Cortez will happen in its entirety by 2020 (not man-made climate change I dont believe in that; not to get political or anything).. Out of curiousty would do you think we can do besides going underground to evade the heat of the sun?
OC didn't say 2020, but 2030, and even then you're misquoting. There will come a 'tipping point', after which you can't take action to reverse things...and given the speed at which any government works, even if that point is 2100, we probably need to start now.

For such a 'creative genius', its hard to see why you don't know that it's WARMER inside the earth than on the surface. And quite obviously COOLER the farther away you get, right??? Like, maybe...space??

Don't know what grade you're in, but the first step in being better at anything is admitting you can't do it. From there, you learn, but you don't seem interested. You don't want to 'waste your time' learning more than one language. You don't want to 'waste your time' with spelling/grammar to write a book. What exactly DO you want to spend your time doing??? You seem to think your work colleagues will fix/maintain everything outside of what you don't want to learn, and an editor will gladly rewrite your entire book for you. When are you going to start to do things, rather than depending on others?

Pipe dream, somebody wrote.
I remember being 20 and dreaming of becoming a professional music maker, but even then I was kinda realistic about it...

Yes you're right we need more government regulation to fix something that cant be fixed (its NOT man made).. I cant believe tech people as smart you (and I know you're smart) actually buy into stuff the libs sell.. Yes climate change is real and its natural, but Earth will still be here for a long time...

Given some of your responses, young jedi, and even including what apparently you consider good SciFi (Star Wars is fun but it isn't SciFi... it's children's space opera) it doesn't seem you have nearly enough Science in your background to write real Science Fiction. This may be OK since what often passes for Science Fiction is just monster movies in some mildly futuristic or fantasy clothing.

To be specific it appears for one thing that you see Anthropogenic Global Climate Change purely in political terms. That exists for sure but to write the entire subject off as only something "the dems are selling" (a hoax) is absolutely ignorant of the Science divorced from anyone's political agenda. That you don't recognize this and that you are more interested in "cabals" and "shadow governments" displays a considerable lacking in actual Science, what it is and how it works. You seem to be writing Fantasy Fiction not Science Fiction and realizing that is so may be important to any plan of success you might seek. There has been some very successful writers loosely known as "sci fi authors" but who were far more agenda driven, often political agenda driven, so this may possibly work for you but you need to do a stark assessment of what tools you have now, what tools you will need over time, and what limitations you have that affect what you will maybe write about. Formulate a plan that is consistent with reality because right now cognitive dissonance is undermining your dream goals.

No climate change isn't "man made", that I can agree with you on. But this does NOT mean that's it hasn't been influenced by man, it most certainly has and is. The Earth maybe "here for a long time", but this doesn't mean we will be able to continue to live on it for a long time...

Because there is something called "over-confident", which you very much appear to be. It doesn't appear you are "learning from your mistakes" ... People here are responding to what you have posted, not making "assumptions" (and that's "assumptions", not "asumptions" by the way) "about you".

While I'm no author myself, you really should work on your spelling...

Nothing's wrong with self confidence provided it's not misplaced; everybody in this thread makes assumptions based on what you have written and how you have written it, not on your estimated birth date.

Just to remove any doubt, what is your science background (ie secondary or tertiary education and/or work history in a scientific or technical field)?

I never claimed to be a Jedi.

I made the claim of being The Bar at Alliteration forums. That it comes from natural ability, time spent with the Dictionary, my affinity for words and using them.

You scoff at the suggestions of others. Think grammar and spelling are unimportant and as someone else's job they should be glad to do in correcting yours. Then you claimed to have creative genius and dared to compare yourself to Einstein. Your claim to creative genius infers superiority to my claim of natural ability.

I openly challenged you and slapped you in the face doing so. Maybe you didn't understand the meaning of all my words.

Maybe you did or took a look at the links I provided to see how you would fare against me... I'm not hard to spot no matter what name I use.

Now instead of backing your claims to creative genius in open competition for the world to see like a real Jedi Knight, you make pitiful excuses in an effort to disguise your fear of losing. Only now realizing the folly of your claims and crossing consonants with someone not afraid to back up the claims they make, or take the chance at public humiliation by your "creative genius".

I don't make grandiose claims I can't back up, and I have made some doozies. You would be a hero of Legendary status to more people than you know if you could only bring the Giant down.... Prove me wrong in front of the world and put me in my place publicly, young_jedi.

I would rather look a fool in failure than run my mouth like a clown and cower before crowds when challenged.

What's the big deal anyway? I bet a lot of people here have written books. They say everyone has at least one book in him. I've written two myself and I don't go trumpeting it around, claiming to be some kind of genius.

PS My books were both correctly spelled too

But hazel...didn't your editor fix all your mistakes, and spend days on the phone with you, asking which words you meant? Isn't that what editors DO?

Saying it's not real because you don't understand the decades-old science behind it, doesn't make it so.

Based on this thread and others, you obviously do NOT learn from your mistakes. Not sure how old you are, but you come off as about 13. You're so 'smart' that you can't spell or use basic grammar. You're so motivated, you keep saying editors are going to fix EVERYTHING because you don't want to. You ask for opinions then argue that others opinions (who do this for a living), are wrong.

Tell us again how you're willing to learn? If you're so smart, and a 'creative genius', then there is absolutely NOTHING stopping you from writing your book right now, or getting a high-paying job only ever touching Python. Go ahead...please accomplish those two things.

I never had an editor. Isn't it your publisher who supplies one? And I never had a publisher because I'm much too old and tired to do what J K Rowling did: hawk my book from publisher to publisher, swallowing rejection after rejection, humiliation after humiliation, until perhaps the ninetieth publisher on the list decided to bring it out. I must say I admire her grit and I'm glad she finally succeeded, but I could never have done it. No, I just put my book up on Lulu.com and Kindle, and felt I'd done my duty by my characters. But I did try first to ensure that there weren't any obvious mistakes in the text.

Incidentally I hope all those publishers who rejected Rowling never got a single good night's sleep after she became so famous!

You all obviously don't appreciate my ingenious work, so in that case I'll take my talents elsewhere where it'll get the attention it deserves.. And I'll make it big time, and be filthy rich kicking it with George Lucus onboard Millenium Falcon.. Just remember the name "Soul Star"...

The Task Analysis I wrote were while I worked in the Mental Health field.

Quote:
Delusion of Grandeur

A delusion of grandeur is the fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth. It is most often a symptom of schizophrenia, but can also be a symptom found in psychotic or bipolar disorders, as well as dementia (such as Alzheimer’s).

*snip*

Sometimes, in popular language, this disorder may be known as “megalomania,” but is more accurately referred to as narcissistic personality disorder if it is a core component of a person’s personality and identity. In such disorders, the person has a greatly out-of-proportion sense of their own worth and value in the world.
