I've never seen one of these, except recently.

The Aye-Aye.

They're endangered, or whatever, and the people in Madagascar kill them because they think they're an evil omen or something.

Cute---looks like Yoda.

It is an unfortunate fact of our evolutionary history that we regard animals as second-class citizens of the planet. Many years ago (at a workshop on climate change) a speaker observed that the planet has some pretty strong survival mechanisms. The keeper quote was something like: "The Earth will survive---humans, I'm not so sure."

That is a very odd looking animal, but this seems to be the greatest threat, deforestation.

I looks like they've given the poor animal way too much coffee to drink.

Yeah, they're not endangered or anything because of people killing them, mainly ... it just adds to it. I read on another site that the people in Madagascar think they're an evil omen or something, and kill them ... and they're endangered as it is.
