Last I heard(from unnamed sources) something like 500 emails had been recieved just a couple hours after. They may change it under duress, but it won't be the same, too much has been said by them(including MD...I'm sure it was just the pressure of what he was having to deal with at the moment and he flew off the handle). Profit fits as a name for the editor. All of it could have been avoided, if they had simply asked about it. They could have done like ars and create a velvet room or whatever, for fee of course. I don't buy the money thing, and I don't buy the mods lacking time....they were volunteers, and there are more than enough volunteers to replace them/add to them. I don't know what's going on, but it's like the sensei thing all over again. Nobody even was going to tell us.
Originally posted by vbp6us OH...lol. Do it. He and all the other mods deserve it.
No, I know we are all a bit upset, but they don't deserve it. Remember how much they contributed to the concern, for years. They were the ones to step up to the plate when internet.com took over, and have done more than a fair job. Luck of the draw. It's taken it's toll on some of them, and one or two really should have hung it up by now, but overall they are great guys. Don't hang it on them, it was not really their choice. I would still like to know the inside story, but don't count on it anytime soon. Remember who long it took for them to explain about sensei? And then they lied for 4 months about it. It was finally a mod who let the cat out of the bag.

Avatars=bandwidth, and are killer on dial up people.
And I've seen swearing, but there's no need to dole it out freely. I've studied on this place all day, and I think that it is not restrictive in the least, common courtesy should be followed anyway...don't you agree? I knew you would. So welcome thayne, enjoy the swim. Let's not muddy up the water too much, give everyone time to get acquainted. No harm, no foul. Remember, you're crashing in someone else's house, we came uninvited, and it's not like when your friend stops over. Probably a couple hundred will be stopping in this time.
Originally posted by williamwbishop And by the time I read the threat from profit, it was too late, I was banned. But I would have left anyway, what he did was wrong. I wonder if that's why Strike decided to stop being a mod? They just went about it the wrong way.
Isn't Proffitt a very apt name considering the circumstances??

No need, it just all depends on your intentions. And yes, there most likely will never be any avatars here, their ugly and unprofessional. Browse the Suggestions forum as its been brought up before, we've given many reasons and denials by members requesting them.
I will miss avatars but I won't have to worry about "will this avatar look good on me or should I go back in the closet and try on another". Besides the best expression of ones self is in your sig. I like the feel here I went looking through the other forums to see if there were an 0 reply posts I could respond too but alas there were none.

But that's a nice thing. You will have to run fast to catch a problem that is unanswered. Makes you think quicker, I'll wager. I think I like it already. And there are several things that are different, that I like better.
