Supposedly it is a German acronym.

Gesellschaft für Software-und Systementwicklung MBH

In English, Soo see will work for what you are looking for.

I think I may try the German in a very loud angry voice. I bet that'd go over nicely

I have a habit of calling it "Soo-Suh", and it looks that way. So, Soosuh it is!

Since Novell bought them, how about Novell Linux [just kiddin] Anyway, how I figure it, since it is spelled SuSE and the E is capital, then the SE would sound like a "C"...?

Hope this helps.!

I pronounce it SOO-zee, because my sister is named Suzie. And I think of my sister everytime I boot up.

But, I have had friends pronouce it Soos, or Soos-a. I think as long as people buy it, they can pronounce how they wish.

I have never seen an official announcement.

I think the proper way of pronouncing it is "Soo-Saa" (or "Soo-suh", if you will). I've always pronounced it Soo-See for some reason (not "Soo-Zee", like a lot of folks).

Cool How do you pronounce SuSE?!

Call them and you will learn how SuSE pronounces it themselves: su SAY. I still like suzie myself.

Erm, I was reading something, but it said stuff about because it's an acronym it would be then said as "Soo-tha". Though I've also heard the suzie, Soo zah, etc etc pronounciations

regards

John

The correct pronunciation is Soo-Suh. Linus Torvalds uses Suse as his home computing distro and thats how he pronounces it.

I called them once and asked them, and they said "soo-see" but I dunno, it could have just been that one person.
