That is just about the worst argument in support of a pronounciation that I've ever heard. You realize that Linus is not German and SUSE Linux is, right? I bet all you've ever heard come out of his mouth is English spoken in a Finnish accent. You can cite him as a pronounciation authority for the word "Linux", but not for acronyms of German companies.

The problem with finding the "correct" pronounciation of an acronym from another language is that it is not a word in that language, and is in fact not a "word" at all. SUSE, in English, is going to be pronounced differently than in German, Finnish, and Japanese. It appears that SuSE reps themselves don't have a canonical answer.

Oh, and vagina-boy has no credibility in this discussion for the use of "usta" as some sort of bastardized illiterate patois for "used to"

Really, how is the pronunciation of a distro important? Don't we have more important issues in Linux?

NO! We don't

This is one of the most important issues I've seen in the general forum. I'm 99.99% sure it is pronounced "Sue-suh"

"Sue - Cee" is clearly the way it should be pronounced

SU --> zoo
SE --> rhymes with pet, set,...

zoo-set is pretty close except for the 't' at the end.
