hosting companies

There are so many hosting companies out there it is too damn difficult to tell the good from the bad. Well Rackspace is of course awesome but not in my budget.

Can someone recommend a top notch hosting company for under $50? I have a site that gets about 500 hits a day and the current hosting company blows. They can't handle it at all.

If you've had good experiences please let me know as I'm in need. Thanks!

I had good service with www.powersurge.net at one time when I hosted mine offsite. Good prices using their Redhat Linux based hosting.
