Unix hosting Vs windows hosting

What is the difference between unix web hosting and windows webhosting ,which one is better I saw the web site of a host it cost more for the windows plan and less for the unix plan ? which one should I opt .

If you plan on using a host, just to put up web pages the Linux server will save you money **unless you use Front Page at which point you'll need to see if support for front page extensions are available under the Linux plan.

If not, then you'll ether use something else to design your pages (which would be a good idea anyway) or utilize the Windows service

Windows hosting: Where you pay more to be hosted on a worse operating system.

Unless you use ASP or FP extensions, there's no need to use Windows hosting.
