Whether the device (or devices), most people use some form of digital calendar to keep up with their daily routine. But there are holdouts who favor good old-fashioned paper calendars and still others who favor of to-do apps or simple reminders.

However, I believe that this debate will never end... Until maybe one day, one technology will be a breakthrough crossing the paper / electronic form.

Maybe some future for the papertab ...?

I use my brain (memory), unless something is unimportant enough that I might forget, in which case I use paper and pen of course.

Paper.

No need to worry about batteries.

See the entire month at a glance, so I don't have to twirl a wheel or scroll down or whatever.

Fast. Open the book, and turn the pages. I'm at the right spot in literally two or three seconds. People with electronic planners/calendars are still waiting for their machines to wake up or are starting to go to the calendar application.

Data entry is faster and easier. Others are hunting and pecking to enter data for a particular date. I just write it in. Takes me 15 seconds to enter on a slow day.

No need to worry about drives corrupting, or getting wiped by misapplied keystrokes.

NSA can't hack it. FBI would need a warrant. Google can't mine it under some terms of use" agreement for advertising or God knows what.

Electronic, no need to worry about loss of paper. I lost a notebook one time and it was really hard to restore from backup.
I have a calendar that goes back to the 80's, its sort of a look ahead at my schedule, plan things around all our schedules, and log/journal what I did in the past.

For todo's, its its a one off I write that down in a paper notebook, do them and then discard the paper. Re-occurring to-dos, such as pay the phone bill, etc I keep in a spreadsheet so I have a history of when I did those things at each interval.

I have not yet found the perfect organizer. Paper doesn't work for everything since you have to carry it and can't easily back it up or share it with someone else. But I also haven't found the perfect electronic organizer yet either. Everything I've tried has limits and I'm currently limited by what can sync with my phone. If I could find an Android calendar that worked with flat ics files and not just import them I could get a step furthur.

Enine, why can't you use Google Calendar? You can import .ics files there and have it sync to your phone.

What to do if you have task lists or daily lot of load of tasks with a brain non paper, non digital, method?

I use the calendar on the cupboard door above the kitchen counter. No need to switch anything on, and I see it first thing ever morning as I open the cupboard for the loaf. KISS!

i keep pencils and pads of paper next to the computer
and use them regularly

these days paper is ALL 100% farm raised
and VERY renewable
unlike the gas/oil for the electricity used

I use paper and pen mostly. But as a backup in case I forget, I wrote a shell script to alert me of an incoming appointment or task.

I don't use google calendar because they don't need to know my plans. I mean, they already have my web search history, what more do they want???

Both, since I use paper and the KDE notes plasmoid. Sometimes I also use my phone.

Every morning I take my wife to work in the mall. When I enter the car park I get a parking entry ticket. When I exit the gate is open so I don't feed the ticket into the machine.

Got lots of blank parking tickets with notes on 'em.
