As I am listening to more older music, because music today (with very very few exceptions), is just plain crap.

I am now just discovering The Doors too. Great great stuff!

And of course, Eric Clapton (in case he hasn't been mentioned yet.

I did not expect that I'd ever see them live, but it seems that it's going to happen. Bad Religion are playing in London in August. Not my favourite band, but I like to listen to them every now and then (obviously I'm talking about their old stuff)

That's why it's called classic rock...I would say from the mid '60s to the mid '70s was the best period, IMO!!!

Well it is certainly better stuff than the drivel that is out nowadays.

I guess you can call this an oxymoronic term, but this is more of a "newer" classic rock song, since it was in the 1980s.

Ozzy Osbourn & Lita Ford - Close My Eyes Forever.

It's not on the radio as much as the poll options, but great music frequently isn't the most popular.

True, unfortunately the 1980s was saturated with "hair", and most of the bands were just gimmicks, (Poison,Slaughter,Cinderella,Motley Crue), although for Motley Crue, I did like two songs from them, Dr. Feel Good and Kick Start My Heart was decent, but the rest was just forgettable.

Also some bands unfortunately couldn't get noticed UNLESS they adopted some kind of hair-metal look, see Guns N' Roses, but they did NOT sound like the poofy hair metal bands.

Then there is Skid Row, which for the most part I also didn't get into, but one song from them proved that they at least moved past the cheesy hair metal crap:

Skid Row - Slave To The Grind

Shout at the Devil - Motley Crue was an awesome album. The 80's were also full of lots of good punk bands.
