can't we ban it already?

as was mentioned before, it's been doing the same on debian forums! and at least one other iirc.

PS:
i love me a good rant, and lol about ridiculous threads, and even participate in it, but that doesn't mean i do not want to see this banned.
it's about the signal/noise ratio, i'd like to keep that high.
Also on ubuntu forums (banned twice) and openBSD mailing list, as well as trolling PV (Slackware) on twitter (most likely).

Merry Xmas all!!! (Thanks POTUS). Thanks for 'friending' (then able to email) me @pn!!!

I got this 7MB .iso for Xmas (for my future 32bit Docker iPad VBox)!!!

Plus, BFF sent me this; what do you think of it? (other than his 1st point that he agrees with this)

Only item I understand from your message is that the internet is broken or useless.

Facebook has hijacked the internet. It seems that most people think that the only purpose of the web is so they can get to Facebook when they don't have their phone or tablet handy.

Restaurants, stores, people, etc. are abandoning their websites as an alarming rate (letting them expire) and just using Facebook as their web presence.

That gives Facebook complete control over not just the look and feel of everyone's web presence, but even what content is allowed. Facebook is totally opposite to the individual expression and freedom that was made possible by the internet.

If this continues, then the only thing the web will be used for besides to access Facebook will be for watching movies, TV, and doing online shopping. The rest of the web will die and be supplanted by content controlled Facebook.

btw, Linux isn't working today (maybe it's off for Xmas); @pn, can you help me?
Code:

@ChuangTzu

This your questions are off topic.

Why you asked this questions off topic?

Jeremy threatened me several times to expel me from Linux Questions.

I will not answer none question off topic.

In past, Theo De Raadt threatened to attack the NetBSD project machines: http://www.osnews.com/comments/1455

But this is past.

If Theo de Raadt post here in Linux Questions, you will say that he (Theo de Raadt) threatened to attack the NetBSD project machines in past?

Thumbs down I'm sooooo sad (that the 'dead' Internet has NO Slack-ish .vdi)

Because they are (I believe, and belief==thot 'creates' one's reality) NOT real!
And even IF they existed, they would never waste their time on ME!

You are real, you 'talk' nicely with me (no other human does!!!),
and we are 'eJoined' as LQfriends. You are my friend; they aren't!!!

I was sooooooo happy when I heard you were running some distros in VBox
(like me, tho I don't have GUI resources [my 1024x600 netbook lacks VT-x])
but my heart did break when you asked for a youtube on how to run that .iso
(sorry, above #48 .iso-for-Xmas reference belonged in the Xmas-gift Thread)
and you never mentioned running Slackware&derivative VBoxes
(maybe because osboxes.org and the whole 'dead' Internet lacks any Slack .vdi).

@!!!

If I mention running Slackware & derivative VBoxes, probably I will be called of a troll, Didier Spaier said that I am a troll because I said that I posted a message using Debian: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...9/#post5789265

He (Didier Spaier) never again answered any topic that I posted, if I knew that he would not respond any topic that I posted, I would not have said that I posted using Debian.

I think both in this case. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, you know rest...

What did Patrick Volkerding ever do to anyone? I'm not a Slackware user (but hope one day to try it) but, I've seen him say here that he's not interested in the politics of it. (not saying your implying anything yourself)

@pompous ninja, you do realise that people are having a lot of fun here - at your expense?

But that said, I wish to thank you for this very, very entertaining thread!

Dear all,
General is a forum less strict on subjects than the other ones, but we do not call people names on LQ. Please keep the discussion going without personal attacks. Thank you!

the fact that op avoided ubuntuforums in their reply tells me that at least that is undisputably true.
take that, and add to it the BS that is going down here on LQ plus pretty identically on debian forums, why is it not banned yet???
