cpu utilization in windows xp too high...

hi,

i just got my dsl installed a few hours ago, and i was just wondering why my cpu utlization is too high... there is a certain service in the win xp task manager dllhost.exe which eats up to 99% of cpu processing...

as a result, i am experience a slow down specially when sounds are played... the sound becomes garbled and choppy. my mouse movement also becomes sluggish... and my display works as if i am not running a titanium...

specs:
  • msi kt3 ultra2
    axp 2100 + as3 + cak4 + ducting mod + ttake smart case fan 2
    512 mb pc2700
leadtek winfast a250 le td myvivo (ti4200 128mb)
    linksys lne100tx v5

by the way, i do not have iis installed...

Give it a scan with this: www.pandasoftware.com/activescan

It'll pick up anything you may have and if it can't clean it you'll be pointed to a tool that will.

mention the obvious.....
Q. have you run an "up-to-date" virus scanner?
