CISCO ASA5510 config port for public IP
Hi,
I have tried this question with Cisco support, but so far no luck with resolving it. Maybe someone can assist me with the following issue:
I have computer inside the LAN that needs to use a PUBLIC IP address and connect to a server on the internet. In other words it needs to completely be unfiltered and access the internet directly when connected to Ethernet0/2. With our old ASA5505 we created a Vlan and then allowed the interface to access the outside. Seems a bit different in the ASA5510.
Cisco support suggested the following:
interface Ethernet0/2
nameif unfiltered
security-level 100
ip address 192.168.4.1 255.255.255.0
This does not work because I can't assign a public IP to the computer hooked up to Ethernet0/2 with this config.
Any ideas how to get this working would be appreciated.
Computer w/PUBLIC IP ----> inside ---> ASA5510 ---> outside ----->www
Cheers!
Manuel
