Anyone knows a key to focus the search box in google?

I mean a keyboard key to get the search box in focus. Every time I begin a new search I have to grab the mouse! Likewise for youtube?

the <Tab> key.

but really the google search box should already be focused.
it is possible to achieve that with CSS (so up to the website designer, but possible to override).

more important Q: what browser are you using? what linux distro & DE?

If the browser doesn't have focus, you'll have to get it with alt+tab then
Ctrl+D gets you hightlighted Url bar.
tab from there?

Well, ^D gives me 'Bookmark this page' both in Firefox and in Seamonkey. But I discovered something extraordinary. Just striking a key gets the search box on focus (I am speaking about google)! I had never noticed.

@ondoho: if the focus in on, say the 12th search item, then bring it again to the search box using tabs would mean a lot of tabs. I currently Seamonkey and sometimes Firefox, as only Firefox lets me place youtube in full screen mode.

aah, you want one of them keyboard-centric browsers, like dwb, cutebrowser, vimprobable
also addons exist for firefox: vimperator, pentadactyl, vimkeys...
