Accurate CPU comparaison?

So, I was looking at Dell's site, and noticed these:

http://i.dell.com/images/global/prod...rt_3d_mark.jpp

http://i.dell.com/images/global/prod...t_sys_mark.jpg

I know that Dell is just interested in making sales, but do you think the charts accurately represent how Intel and AMD match up? The only thing I don't get is how the X2 3600+ does compared to the E4400; the X2 3600+ is supposed to be a lower-budget CPU compared to the E4400, at around half its price, yet it does almost as good?

Or is it just because they only give out percentages that the stats are flawed?

Cheers,
Joro, still debating whether to go Core 2 or Athlon 64 X2

Going on a single benchmark is usually sketchy, especially if you're looking for performance in one particular area. If you're going for a general purpose computer, go with whichever one costs less and that's the winner. If you're really serious about getting the absolute best performance, find the reviews of those CPUs on Tom's Hardware.
