Consider my attitude adjusted!

I had to reinstall the alleged OS is question yesterday because, earlier this week, it decided that, actually, it hadn't been activated after all, yet when I would try to reactivate it, it would insist that, actually, it had been activated, but by the way, I only have 3 days left (then 2, then 1, etc); so yesterday I got to spend my day with whinedopes update eating all my bandwidth and arbitrarily rebooting my system at random intervals. Taken in conjunction with 2 days without sleep, I might have gone postal if it weren't for iTunes, which my brother just turned me on to (yes, as a matter of fact, I DO live under a rock!) and XasPeration seems to hate --I get weird refreshes. Can anyone tell me if the Mac version of iTunes will run under Linux?

Even now it's installing 17 --count them,17!-- MORE security updates IN ADDITION TO the "Cumulative" Security Update for SP2! GRRR...

BTW, xushi, what does the quote at the end of your signature say? I'm afraid English is the only language I've been able to master!

I don't find that very funny and you know what can happen in such situations. Don't push any buttons, you've been warned.

lol, still though, i've had similar problems with linux over and over.. with the last one being Slamd64
If you were talking about what a disgrace SP2 is, then i'd agree Damn i hate that service pack, and damn i hate any version of windows greater than 3.1.1.

Ahem, well my traditional arabian translation of poetry is a bit rusty, but the literal translation would go like,
Quote:
Move around your heart between whichever loves you choose. But what's true love except first love.
The more 'understood' translation would be
Quote:
Love as many as you choose to love, however, what's true love but first love.
And as Mike Myers would say
Quote:
shag as many birds as you like, but it's more fun to deflour
more or les... lol

Actually, I hate to say it, but XP SP2 is the most stable Windows OS to date(SP2 integrated)... Atleast in my opinion. I still prefer 2k pro tho or even 98... I haven't had too many problems with XP.. Actually, they just got better at hiding the BSOD with XP.... I suppose they didn't really make it any more stable.

I feel the OP's pain tho... You have to restart the computer if you sneeze too close to it...

I think SP1 is the most stable, provided you get rid of some of the remote procedure calls manually, and keep it spyware free.

SP2 just has too many software incompatibilities, and they added alot of services by force, even though i don't want them... Its the fact that all these services are there by force which annoys me.

And it took me 3 days of trying to enable ActiveX because my dad needs it for his online banking.. but even when i set EVERYTHING related to security to 'disabled' , it just wouldn't work.

And speaking of which... In slackware, i know form experiance that we don't have to restart the pc if we install drivers, or applications (unless its the kernel we're messing with). But why do we have to restart when we install ATI or Nvidia drivers ? Shouldn't restarting X be sufficient?

Tut tut tut. Not only is it a rant, but it's a rant against Windows XP. You may try to turn it into a "lots of OS problems", but it's a rant.

And you know where they go, don't you? Follow me to General.

You don't deserve to use me as the center of your jokes any longer from our past history, so move on or you know what can happen. If you have a problem with this, I'm well aware you know Jeremy's email address.
