Hi, Welcome to LQ!

LQ has a fantastic search function that may save you time waiting for an answer to a popular question.

With over 3 million posts to search it's possible the answer has been given.
You might try parsing one or two kernel command line parameters, during boot from dvd.

This may compensate for motherboard harddisk controllers.

Not sure of the exact key to use with fedora, but it is usually F3, or one of the F keys to get a boot command line.

pci=nomsi (this has really helped my system booting, ide, sata incompatabilities)
noapic
noacpi

If you use more than one, just leave a space between them.

Cheers, and regards Glenn

Is your computer partioned? if not, try the partioning of that 100 gb may into two types with ext file system for linux. then install Ubuntu 9.04 into one partition and fedora 10 onto another. see this if it can work..... Nice time

OK, as best I can, not having a Fedora system....

When you boot your computer, after the bios sets up, you should get Grub,

a GUI that allows you to pick the operationg system or kernel version to use.

you usually have 10 seconds to pick, somewhere there should be a key to get help, F1...

A key to change boot parameters, sometimes F2 or F3.

these last 2 may have the options already there for you to click, nice and easy.

There may also be a command line where you can type in parameters that are not in the other list.

You may use either, whatever suits your needs.

You may google/search the parameters to see more info on what they controll.

I do not know the exact command, for your system. Just try a few, it won't hurt. Promise.

Regards Glenn
