Unhappy System hangs at installation

Hi,

I'm installing FC4 on my computer and making it a dual boot system. I already have Windows XP on the system. But as soon as I pressed "Enter" to install FC4 from a DVD disk, the system checks for hard drives and says: "hdc: cdrom_pc_intr: the driver appears confused (ireason 0 x01)". The installation keeps saying this error and doesn't go any where. Could someone shed me a light on how to get around this problem? Thanks.

Try typing some random characters (anything like your name) when the menu screen is displayed first.

Yes, I know this sounds wierd, but it does work. This is a known bug and workaround.
