SATA issues with FC2
I got a new Dell XPS GEN system with a 80 GB Maxtor SATA harddrive with Win XP installed on it. For another application that i use, i needed to install Win 2K. So i added a second SATA 160GB SATA drive to the system.
Made the 160K drive SATA0 and 80 GB WinXP Drive SATA 1.
Next, i installed Win 2k on half of the 160GB drive. I'm trying to install FC2 on the other half but am having issues.
I changed my BIOS setting to RAID/ATA and tried the installation. Linux was just showing SATA0 drive as /dev/sda with the unallocated space, but is not showing the SATA2 drive.
I then changed my BIOS setting to COMBINATION mode and tried the installation. It was now showing both the drives, but as /dev/hda and /dev/hdb. Can i continue with the installation? Whatz the difference between the kernel recognizing my hard disk as hda instead of sda? Also, will i be able to boot into FC2, XP & 2K from the GRUB bootloader?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
