I have a strange problem here..
I setup one of my old PC to run FC2 for my home server..
i installed only the
- Kernel development for kernel compiling purpose
- Telnet Server

i plan to customize the other server component by compiling them via source code.

i have a 9.1GB Baracuda (hda)+ 2x80GB Maxtor SATA (hde,hdg) on Sil3112A PCI SATA Card

the 9.1GB Baracua is the System driver partition in
/boot - the first 100MB
swap - 256MB
/ - the rest

hde, hdg is data only drive

D-Link DFE-538TX
SiS630 Chipset Mobo

another box with Coyote Linux as router...

Installation goes smooth..
but when the system goes strange when the system boot.

The system just wont boot if I boot directly from hda (9.1GB driver) ...

but... if i put a WinXP CD in the CDROM drive and let the system boot from the CD
after the

'Press any key to boot from CD....."
then the GRUB load up... then things boot fine..

i used fdisk in the FC2 Installation CD to set the /dev/hda1 to have the bootable flag .. but things still no working...
any suggestion ?
