I just installed fedora 2 on my computer in Virtual PC.
I need help getting logged in the to fedora.
There must be some sort of default login.
I have no clue what it is.
First of all, do you remember what you set the password as your root login name?
If you do type "root" in as the user name and the password of which you chose at installation.
If you dont remember what the password was then, press the magic button(power) and reinstall
and hit return. On linux/Unix OSs, the default action when no arguments
are supplied is to spit out usage info. Read the usage info and then
type
useradd username(whatever you want)
which will create the user
username
Then, to set the passwd, type
passwd username
you'll be prompted to type in the new passwd and then you'll be
prompted to verfiy it
Hi
you need not to reinstall fedora. logged as root . Add a user with the command
#adduser
then type
# passwd -d <username> {This is for removing password new user }
then logout
login with new account
thats what I said...
But if he forgot the password for root he cant login as root can he?
And if he cant login as root (let alone any username) he cant get his hands on a terminal can he...
