make xconfig, xconfig with weird words
I am trying to START editing a faster kernel, I wanted to try out the xconfig but it seems it's giving me trouble which I wish to tackle before i go on with the menuconfig.The link is as below

You have the wrong character set there. I'd suggest that you try either gtkconfig or menuconfig.
Alternatively, try running it under Gnome and make sure that your language and font settings are correct.

I found the solution somewhere on the net.
Run qtconfig
change the DEFAULT FONTS to something more relavent ( as my machine use to run IIIM which runs chinese and japanese character )
and try running make xconfig again.
