having trubs installing fedora core 3 from cd
hi,
i'm having trouble getting fedora 3 installed. i'm running redhat 7.3 on a dell inspiron 8200.
i downloaded all 4 of the fedora isos, burned all of them to cd using x-cd-roast. i had to use the "master tracks" tab, using "master source", then "create session/image", and then clicking on "master and write on-the-fly". the "write tracks" tab didn't work. i always got a start sector error while using that technique to burn an iso file.
anyway, all 4 of them are burned, but the first iso cd doesn't boot from cd despite the cd-rom being the first device in the boot order. the win/xp cd boots from cd-rom. all the md5sums for the isos work.
i tried burning the boot.iso to cd, but that doesn't boot either.
then i tried the isolinux technique described in the redhat 9 installation guide, but there is no boot.cat file in the isolinux directory for fedora, in either the ncsu mirror or the gatech mirror. that means that i can't create a bootable cd, ala "el torito".
so, the big question is "what do i do to get this thing installed?"
thanks,
