I was trying to figure out how to install Fedora Core 1 from CDs. Whenever I did a media check it said it had failed and I would go back to re-download.
After wasting several hours and several CDs, I started looking at the process I used to download it. (I'm still a n00b by all standards.) I was using a download manager to help speed up the process. I checked them using the MD5 file and found they were WAY off. SO -- I just opened a standard FTP Client (and found it downloaded much faster than with the download manager)...
After I checked them again after the straight install, I found they were perfect and the system installed with no more problems.
So, to all those other n00bs out there like me -- the moral is, don't use download managers! ^___^
I hope this helps SOMEONE save a few hours...
