I am trying to install FC6 on a new machine. Hardware = ECS P4M800PRO-M Ver. 2 motherboard w/ Pentium D Dual Core 3.4 gHz processor. This box is for MythTV so it also includes a Hauppauge PVR-350 PCI card.

Started with the GUI install and when it got to glibc install portion it hung--meaning it locked up kb and mouse and everything and required reboot. I reproduced this 3 or 4x and same problem in same spot. Tried it with text mode install and same result but a little more info: It got to 100% on subtask progress bar, then it printed about 5 lines of special chars (Cyrrilic and other foreign chars) starting at the end of the global progress bar, then hung as before.

BTW, I know the install disks are good because I did a successful install with them on another machine already and didn't have this prob. I've tested the memory, and it's fine. Was able to partiion/format hd with a DOS boot disk so I think it's OK too.

What to do?
