Tried to install FC3 (DVD version) on Intel D845PEBT2 (which uses Si3112A SATA conttoller) on the 1st IDE but failed when FC3 reached the loading of "Sil_SATA" driver and hang with the message "Disabling IRQ11".

My 1st SATA drive is installed with XP and planned to install FC3 on my 1st IDE. I am "newbie" to the linux world.

Some articles suggested to look for the latest kernel that supports the Si3112A controller and to recompile + reinstall. I'm sorry that I couldn't not find the FC3 kernel that supports the Si3112A controller and I don't know how to recompil it and burn it into DVD to reinstall.

Please help!

Where have you downloaded that drive? A few days ago I installed a sii3112A driver from the siliconimage site. This driver worked for redhat es 4.0 but not for redhat es 2.1.

Downloaded fr Si web site, but no longer using FC3 as I switched to FC2 as it worked. I'm out of the Linux world now as the nature of my work has changed. Thnx all for the help!
