Hi,

I tried to install Quake 3 Arena Demo (linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh) in FC 3 (kernel 2.6.9-1.681_FC3) and the installer quits after printing a few lines in the console. The GUI comes up for a second or so and then goes away before the installer quits. Anyone had this problem? Someone help me please. Thanks in advance.

i had the same problem (SuSE 9.2) _when trying to ron the sh as root from the console it sayd

./linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh
Verifying archive integrity...OK
Uncompressing Quake III Arena Demotrap: usage: trap [-lp] [[arg] signal_spec ...]


so for some reason i tryed running the installer from a console as root with -target /tmp
something like this
./linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh -target /tmp

that should unpack the stuff in the installer into a ~/tmp and run it from there..and it worked for me

-i have no ide why simply running the sh doesnt work..
