boot loader


ok this is driving me insane, esp since im a n00b at linux, i installed Red Hat useing boot CDs since the comp its on does not have internet access, and i have 2 hard disks, one has windows and the other i wanted linux to go on. Red Hat installed fine, but when it restarted, it gave an error and hung at "GRUB Hard Disk Error"...i tried resinstalling everything using the auto way and the manual way but nothign works

Did you make a boot floppy and will it boot from it?

hey, thanks for the help but i figured out that it was a problem with the setting of each hard disk. one was set to master and the other one wasnt set, the windowes boot loader could figure out which was which but GRUB couldnt, i just reconfigured my BIOS to set the other disk to slave
