Zombie Xsession on startup in Fedora 10

Hi and happy NY to everyone reading this...

Recently I made a clean install of Fedora 10 (from Live CD) on an Intel PIII machine (733MHz, 384 MB RAM, Nvidia Vanta AGP) and noticed that right on startup there appears a zombie Xsession process: Xsession <defunct>, owned by me (not root). As far as I understand (at least, that is what I found in Google), this is a common problem when migrating from KDE to Gnome, or when bluetooth is running. But I tried to strip the OS as much as possible and still this zombie appears... Fedora 8 used to run on the same machine just fine. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help,
L.

Well, with the nvidia vanta graphics it is not so appealing to have a nice graphical boot, so I disabled it in grub.conf:

# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.
# root (hd0,1)
# kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/sda6
# initrd /initrd-version.img
#boot=/dev/sda
default=3
timeout=15
splashimage=(hd0,1)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

I.e., I have 3 kernels (the one for everyday use is 2.6.27.9-159) installed plus Win XP. The 3-color bar worked, but I disabledit (no rhgb) options.

This Xsession is a child process of gnome-session (pid 2408):

~/temp|>>>ps auxwwf | grep session

lisaev 2986 0.0 0.1 4212 688 pts/1 S+ 10:36 0:00 \_ grep session

All packages are newest:
~/temp|>>>rpm -qa | grep gnome-session
gnome-session-2.24.2-1.fc10.i386
gnome-session-xsession-2.24.2-1.fc10.i386

I tried to degrade them to older ones, but the zombie did not go away...
