yum update stopped working

I've been using yum update regularly on my FC4 server since last summer. Suddenly I'm getting this:

# yum update
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: livna
failure: repodata/repomd.xml from livna: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
Error: failure: repodata/repomd.xml from livna: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

Any help/explanations would be greatly appreciated.
This forum has been so good that I hardly ever have to post to get help/answers.

Thanks in advance.

Not to panic It sounds like the livna repo is down. Just keep trying and it should be up again.....Eventually. I have seen a couple of posts tody on other forums about the problem.

add the rpos to /etc/yum.repos.d from here and see the result.

Depending on your connection type (especially if it is slow and not always 100% reliable like mine you may want to change some settings in your yum.conf file. I got mine from the Unofficial Fedora FAQ and changed the numbers like this:

# Changed this because some mirrors go down and then
# re-trying takes forever.
retries=4
timeout=15

that way, yum complains a lot less about mirrors being down when it times out (as it does quite a bit for me)
