yum update problem

Hi folks,

FC6_64

On running "yum update" following warning popup;
Code:
unable to verify
libpcap-0.9.4-10.fc6.x86_64.rpm
tcpdump-14:3.9.4-10.fc6x86-64.rpm
is not signed
Then I have to run;
# yum update --exclude=libpcap --exclude=tcpdump
to get the packages updated.

Please advise how to fix the problem. TIA

I had the same problem. All I did to fix it is to do the following as root:

yum clean metadata

then,

yum update

That "should" take care of it. Hope this helps!

I haven't done anything. It became normally later. I can just run "yum update" without problem. Maybe somethings have been done on the repository.

I'll try your advice next time when I encounter the same problem. Tks again.

I have a feeling that certain repos didn't sign those two packages. By deleting the metadata, it will force yum to retry different server, I think. Anyway, I had the same problem and that took care of it. I'm glad I was able to help you.
