i think i read once that each time you update your kernel, you need to reinstall your video driver. if memory servers, you need to update your kernel, then reinstall your video driver, then reboot. i'm guessing your can still reinstall it and reboot at this point.

Hi,

Lannai is right; and regarding the ATI-driver - I've myself chosen to use the driver from ATI.COM homepage (they have made a self-installing driver for your card).

After installing it, I experienced the graphics worked moore smoothly than the "standard" linux drivers. If that's of any interest for you - you should download the biggest file (approx. 52 Mb) - since it contains drivers for all possible Radeon cards and different version of XFree / X.org.

If you want to remove entries from you boot menu, you'll need to edit your grub.conf file (it's in this directory: /boot/grub ). Remove entries regarding the old kernel versions. Remember; you have to be root to save the changes.

Regards,
Ingar
