X restarts when switching Virtual Consoles.

Okay. so I installed FC4 and then did an immediate "yum update" this morning. And now, X starts up fine. I can log in. but then when I swtich to a text virtual console (ctrl-alt-f1) and then switch back, X restarts and I'm looking at a login screen again. So I basically lose everything.

Any suggestions? I'm running this on a Dell with some Intel integrated graphics chip if that helps any.

Thanks!

Are you pressing Ctrl Alt F7 to get back into your x mode?

Yup.

Yeah I login on X, ctrl-alt-f1, and then ctrl-alt-f7 and X restarts and I'm back at the login prompt
