Ok so I just re-arranged my hard drives, changing the drive my fc1 installation is on from hdg to hde, but leaving my windows hd at hdc. After much work, I have grub working and booting me into windows nicely, but when it tries to load fc1, I get the retarded "kernel panic no init found" error.
This leads me to believe that fc1 is not finding its root drive, which is hde2.
I have tried:
- fixing grub.conf, I can post that later if need be?
- fixing fstab
Sadly, and obviously, neither of these has solved my problem. Any suggestions?
Just an idea (if you haven't already tried it): In 'grub.conf', use 'root=/dev/hdeX' instead of 'root=LABEL=/'
Note that the hdeX should be the correct partition number for that drive.
