ntfs mount issues
I am currently using fedora core 5. i am dual booting with two hardrives my windows is on the secondary master(hdb) with linux on the primary master(hda).i recently installed mandriva over fedora to test it but hated and decided to reinstall fedora. now i can not boot windows at all.. secondly i have never been able to read my windows harddrive or any windows partitions under fedora, i recently found out that this is due to redhat/fedora decision not to allow it OS to read NTFS files and that there is a way to correct this..
i have two maxtor hardrives the primary is an 80 gig maxtor with an 8 gig windows partition for booting windows and a 120 gig with windows xp service pack 2...
thanx in advance and i hope this info helps you help me...

You using grub bootloader? If so and you cant get into windows you need to edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Hopefully there will comments in the file so you can see what to do. To enable ntfs support you need to either recompile your kernel to support it or compile a module and load it.

Ok, get your windows disk out and boot off of it. Then go through recovery console to get to the c prompt. Type fixboot or fixmbr and that will repair it. Then, boot into windows normally and use the system file management utility to delete the linux install. Then reinstall fedora. walla, your done.
