Hello Andy,
Just installed Fedora 10 , and yes I agree with you.
There are some network set snags as well as a Grub snag, and if you cannot log in as root you cant edit the files.
Any help anyone?

open a terminal
enter root's password
sudo dolphin

Now you have file manager superuser access.
