Issues to configure emailing aplications to run in backkground


Hi, today i moved from zorin os to fedora workstation 26, and i m having issues to set any emailing program running in background for instant notification in case of new mail, i try thunderbird geary and the native evolution, any help to configure it?? thanks!

I use Thunderbird but I haven't set it up to notified me of a new e-mail coming in.

This looks like a good place to start. There's instructions for Linux on this page just scroll the page to get to it.

thunderbird auto checks, you can configure the frequency.

Goto edit > account settings > server settings > about 1/2 way down the page, check for new messages every x minutes. You can disable it there too.

if you want thunderbird in the systray (i suppose that's what op meant), you need to install an addon.
it doesn't do that by itself.
