Installing Ati drivers->X server failure

I have an Ati 9600XT VGA card and everytime I plug it on my pc the X server on Fedora 5 fails to start. I have installed the drivers guided by this site.

I have installed the drivers in my upgraded kernel (2.6.18).
Any solution accepted.Thnx.

Well, first, the link you posted is (from its name) a how-to for nVidia drivers, not ATI/Radeon drivers.

The easiest way to get the driver is to install the rpm(s) from livna

Read the "sticky" note (see the first entry in the Fedora forum) about video drivers for more information.

I have allready done that and everything works fine now. Thank you very much.

But the link works also for Ati. It's mentioned somewhere in there.
