How to Install and Configure DNS on Fedora 11? I'm look BIND package with all dependent packages to download and install without using yum. Can anyone put them in a zip file for me.
And I want the instruction with tips and trick on how to configure DNS Server to work professionally.
I hope that someone will have time to help me. Thanks in advance.
If there are a lot of dependencies, are you trying to install an rpm package for a different version than your distro? Using the bind package that comes with your Fedora distro will minimize the dependencies needed.
An option is to down load the source rpm and build it, if you need different options or to apply a security patch. However, Fedora is very prompt in applying patches. You could also download the source for bind and follow the instructions for building it. This would entail a lot more work that the Fedora folks have already done for you.
It's too bad that I didn't learn how to compile source code. Actually, I already mention about Fedora 11. So I really appreciate if you can zip the BIND packages include all dependent packages for Fedora 11. Or tell me where to get it. Thanks for your reply.
Linux is very difficult. Windows made us easy for any reason. An application is always come with the requirement packages. Example: a game required directX 9. so they always include Direct 9 inside the CD.
I already mention that I want to keep installation package for later use. By the ways, I need to install on others Computer which is not connecting to internet. Plus, I need to show the installation to my friends. I want to save sometimes.
