how to apply patch?


how do i apply patch like for instance for kernel-2.6.11 there is a patch available 2.6.11.1. so what is the command to patch the kernel and can this command be used to patch any software?

Here is a link to a quick and dirty kernel patch howto --> [HERE]

There really isn't much to it. The command used is "patch"
Do a "man patch" or "info patch" at the command line to
get a full description of the program. It is really worth
getting to know patch. It will be your friend for a long time.
