Jumped the gun. Looks like its a known issue and a fix is upstream pending.

https://admin.fedoraproject.org/upda...-0.3.12-1.fc10

Hope this helps someone else!

Maybe stupid question but -

Upstream pending? Meaning it'll be available soon? How will we know?

I removed packagekit and gnome-packagekit, then I reinstalled packagekit. When I tried to do the same with gnome-packagekit, I got the exact same error message. And a yum update tells me I'm fully up to date.

I just updated packagekit and it went fine. I use yumex.

Quote:
[hitboxx@Mothership ~]$ yum list installed | grep packagekit
Loaded plugins: changelog, fastestmirror, protect-packages, refresh-packagekit
gnome-packagekit.x86_64 0.3.12-1.fc10 installed
gnome-packagekit-extra.x86_64 0.3.12-1.fc10 installed
kpackagekit.x86_64 0.3.1-9.fc10 installed
Should be ok now, can you try again please?
