First time Linux user!!! Trouble installing WMWare tools
I decided I want to give Linux a try. So, I installed a Fedora 4 virtual machine using VMWare 5.5 on a Windows 2003 Server host.
After the Fedora 4 installation was completed, I tried installing VMWare Tools to improve the screen resolution, which is currently at only 800 x 600. To do this, I did the following:
1) Mounted the .iso image of the Linux CD in the c:\program files\VMWare\VMWorkstation\linux.iso directory.
2) Used "tar zxpf /mnt/cdrom/VMwareTools-5.0.0.tar.gz" to uncompress the WMWare Tools files
3) Ran the vmware-config-tools.pl
4) I followed the questions made by the installer with the default answers, until I got to the question "What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]"
The problem at this point is that there is no "/usr/src/linux/include" directory. All I could find was a "/usr/include/linux" directory, but the installer tells me that I "do not have the kernel source package installed"
So I search the add/remove applications window in the GNOME desktop but I cant find any "source" package to install. So the question is...what do I do now???
Thanks for your help.
