Dear reader,

I've been looking around in how can i have a central user database in the company i work for, i have come to some conclusions, that i want to put to your consideration.

We have an Active Directory network in the company, in which we have all the employee information on the user objects, but there's another group which is not in the AD "company clients".

What I'm thinking is that to set up a Linux Box with LDAP server working on it, keep the "clients" on the Linux box and any other authentication that pertains to the employees the Linux Box ask for the information to AD and respond back to the application with the proper response. Personally i have never tried this, I've found some articles explaining how to setup something similar stating to use "Services for Unix 3.5" on the windows side, but nothing particular to what i want.

So if you have information to help in accomplishing this task that i have set for myself, I will greatly appreciated.
