Linux desktop that works with Novel directory service

I'm looking for a linux solution that will allow me to use linux workstations that can log in to Novell (NDS) and also run some win32 apps. I've done installs of SuSe and Debian for the desktop successfully. What I'm having difficulty with is finding a good way to log in to the NDS that allow access to the server and tree using a gui. I would also like to run some win32 apps, but nothing too intensive.
