fedora 9 on usb stick -ext3 errors
Hi,
i have successfully managed to install Fedora 9 i686 on 4GB USB stick using ~512MB as persistent storage, by using the automated tool provided for Windows. After that, i try to install scilab (just a scientific program) from the tar.gz binary provided by the official site. At some point of the extraction, the extraction fails and exits with an error message, the console throws ext3 error messages and commands of the /bin dir like "ls" are non-existent(?). The "df" command shows -at some point during the extraction- that i have consumed about 58% of the free space. I have tried twice to install scilab; the first one without having removed the whole KDE first and the second one after having removed KDE (and installed fluxbox). In both cases, the scilab installation fails as described above. I do not think space has to do with this -a bug probably?- since in my second attempt i removed the whole KDE, freeing thus a lot of space.
Can somebody suggest anything?
In case somebody needs specific error messages and info, i am ready to reproduce the error.
Thanks
