fedora 11 starting problem

my fedora 11 has stopped working...after logging with user name and password it is neither directing me to main screen nor showing any errors..couldn't get what to do...anyone ca please help me as it is urgent..

can you edit grub and remove the "quiet rhgb" options (during boot)
press spacebar just during the boot and you will be shown a grub menu
in the grub menu select the item (using arrow up/dwn)
press 'e'
and then go to the kernel line press 'e' again and remove rhgb and quiet
and then press 'enter' and Ctrl+X

this time the booting will be verbose and it will show what is going wrong ... hopefully
post the issues back in this thread and we would be able to help you then.

what did you do last ?
and it WAS NOT installing updates .There have been NONE for a year - fedora 11 is PAST it's "End of Life"

do you have a full back up ?

if so install the current fedora 14

also please describe IN DETAIL what this means

a black screen with NO TEXT ?
or is there the text login?

can you boot into single user mode ?
can you boot using the old install cd in " rescue mode" ?
